We have also confirmed CAUSE Chair Charlie Woo to be the respondent for this book talk.
The event is free and open to the public; however we do ask that participants rsvp direct at RSVP@camla.org so that we can plan accordingly. CAM Educator Mike Truong and I are in talks about what else CAM can do for the NAPABA attendees who are interested in visiting other sites during the conference. We currently have "Remembering Angel Island" exhibition on display - the exhibiton commemorates the 100th Anniversary of the opening of Angel Island Immigration Station and we are showcasing rare artifacts like coaching books, coaching maps, certificate of identifications and files from the National Archives at San Bruno.

My Hotel Life

There is a new player in tinseltown and I couldn't be more pleased to see the new JW Marriott at LA Live making a splash in this glitzy haven in Southern Cal. The JW is part of LA's entertainment district comprising of the Staples Center, Nokia Theater, Club Nokia and a number of restaurants such as Flemings and BOCA at the Conga Room. The JW's sister hotel, the Ritz Carlton, stands tall next to the JW tower.

Explore Historic Los Angeles ( Optional add-on events )
Los Angeles Conservancy Walking Tours

Los Angeles is like no other city. The Los Angeles Conservancy's Walking Tour Program explores the history and heart of our amazing city through interpretation of L.A.'s unique architectural resources.
Our private walking tours, led by knowledgeable docents, focus on the architecture of Los Angeles' historic downtown.

The Historic Core tour provides an overview of the historical and cultural landmarks of downtown Los Angeles. Covering a wide range of architectural styles, and including anecdotes about the people behind the buildings, this tour is a great way to become acquainted (or re-acquainted) with the unique character of downtown L.A.

The Historic Core is the heart of downtown. Some of the most beloved Los Angeles landmarks are in this area, such as the Central Library, Angels Flight, and the Bradbury Building. The history of the area goes back to the founding of the city in 1781, and its architecture tells the story of the growth of the city from the 1890s to the present, including the current trend of conversions of vintage office buildings into loft-style apartments and condos.
