A DAY OF GIVING BACK
NAPABA's Thanksgiving Gift to API Families In Need

Spend part of your Sunday (10 am to 1 pm) creating Thanksgiving baskets for needy families, including survivors of domestic violence, sexual assault and child abuse. One of the beneficiaries of this project will be Center for the Pacific Asian Family (CPAF) who will provide a brief orientation of domestic violence in our API community and the families who will receive the food baskets. Come exercise your creative skills in an arts and crafts session to decorate the food baskets and create cards with encouraging messages for the recipients. No skill or experience necessary - come out, bring friends and family for a day of giving back.

The Center for the Pacific Asian Family (CPAF) is a nonprofit organization that offers domestic violence, sexual assault and child abuse services in the Los Angeles Asian Pacific Islander (API) community. The mission of CPAF is to build healthy and safe communities by addressing the root causes and the consequences of family violence and violence against women. CPAF is committed to meeting the specific cultural and language needs of API women and their families.

Asian Pacific Women's Center (APWC) is dedicated to providing a safe haven and support services for women and children who are survivors of domestic violence. Our mission is to provide an environment that is sensitive to the cultural and language needs of Asian and Pacific Islander domestic violence survivors and their families, as they acquire the necessary skills and personal strength for self-sufficiency and violence-free lives. APWC is also committed to education and outreach, raising awareness about domestic violence, and fostering violence prevention.

The mission of the Asian Pacific American Legal Center of Southern California (APALC) is to advocate for civil rights, provide legal services and education, and build coalitions to positively influence and impact Asian Pacific Americans and to create a more equitable and harmonious society. APALC was founded in 1983 with broad community based support and is now the largest organization in the country focused on meeting the legal needs of one of the nation's fastest growing populations. APALC serves more than 15,000 individuals and organizations each year through direct services, community education, training, and technical assistance.
